The cooperation between LNTU and the Lublin University of Technology is gaining momentum, as it has united two LNTU faculties with almost nothing in common at first glance. Today, the Faculty of Transport and Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Agricultural Technologies and Environmental Studies have joined forces to hold an exciting meeting with the guest lecturer, Sylwester Samborski, Professor of the Lublin University of Technology.

During his lecture "Damage Detection in Structural Materials", Prof. Sylwester proved that technical and natural (agrarian) specialities have many contact points. The lecturer conducted a fascinating "journey" into the world of plastic materials and the detection of changes in their structure. He detailed how to detect the most minor damage and prevent its formation. The professor described the methodology for designing the structure of plastic materials and the use of highly sensitive computed tomography in this process, the results of which allow you to create changes in materials under significant external influences.

Besides, at the end of the meeting, Serhiy Kharchenko, who began working at the Lublin University of Technology since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, presented his scientific research. His research is interesting and more relevant than ever, as it is aimed at preserving the food security of European countries. In particular, the study of damage to biological products, namely the mechanical impact of grain harvesters on grain during its collection and separation. The lecturer emphasised that today there are many technological solutions for restoring sowing properties, particularly the effect of different lighting spectra on increasing germination rates and energy.

The participants and representatives of the faculties sincerely thank Professor Sylwester Samborsky and Sergiy Kharchenko for their lecture to students of the Faculty of Transport and Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Agricultural Technologies and Environmental Studies of LNTU. Their practical experience was extremely valuable for our academic community. They not only shared professional information, but also conveyed to the youth inspiration, faith in their capabilities and understanding of the importance of engineering in the modern world.
The speeches aroused lively curiosity among the students and prompted them to ask new questions, search and strive for knowledge. This is the best result a teacher can strive for - to awaken a thirst for professional growth in young people. We are sincerely grateful for this cooperation and hope for its continuation, both in the form of joint lectures and in broader educational initiatives.
