Lutsk National Technical University constantly strives to provide its employees and students with the best opportunities for professional development and international cooperation. From June 17 to June 19, the Lodz University of Technology (Poland) hosted vibrant training on the topic "Innovative Teaching, Learning and Coaching Tools and Methods (T&L) part 2", namely coaching training.
At the invitation of the host party, Olha Hnatiuk, a leading international relations officer and a part-time lecturer of the Department of Foreign and Ukrainian Philology, participated in these events. The educational program took place within the framework of vol. 2 of the project "European Consortium of Innovative Universities for Ukraine" (ECIU4Ukraine)" funded by the National Agency for Academic Exchange NAWA.
The first part of such training took place in October 2023, during which representatives from 10 Ukrainian universities studied active learning methods, practical tools for active interaction with students, introduction to problem-based/challenging learning, evaluation of learning outcomes, and coaching as an effective teaching and learning strategy.
This time, the focus was exclusively on coaching, covering the following key topics: the basics of coaching, the change in the coaching model, the coaching process (GROW model), the rules for asking questions, the goal grid, identifying resources, values, beliefs and changing them, working with habits, giving effective feedback and working with emotions - to name a few.
Guest trainers and certified coaches Rafał Nykiel and Katarzyna Buss Nykiel shared their knowledge and experience. Thanks to their tireless work, the participants enthusiastically immersed themselves in the study of coaching. This process became a space for exciting and deep discussions, discoveries, and invaluable experience. Coaching training helped the team master the art of asking questions that opened up new perspectives and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
In general, such measures are essential for developing international cooperation and joint work to solve the global challenges of our time. Lutsk National Technical University is grateful for the assistance of Ukrainian universities and the support of higher education in Ukraine!
