On September 18, Lutsk National Technical University hosted lectures by famous Polish architects Mikołaj Gomółka and Hubert Trammer.

The event brought together students and academic staff of the Department of Architecture and Design and the Department of Building and Civil Engineering, and everyone interested in contemporary urban processes and international experience in urban planning.

Mikołaj Gomółka, an architect, urbanist, and lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw University of Technology, delivered a lecture in English titled "Memories of War. Damage within the Reconstruction Framework: Warsaw."

In his presentation, he discussed the challenges of the post-war reconstruction of Poland's capital, particularly in preserving cultural memory and integrating historical heritage with new urban solutions.

Hubert Trammer, an architect, lecturer, expert on the EU Mies van der Rohe Award, and participant in the New European Bauhaus roundtable, gave a lecture in Ukrainian entitled "From Unwanted Relics of the Past to Valuable Reference Points: Transforming the Image of Residential Microdistricts in Poland."

He shared insights into reinterpreting Soviet-era residential developments and explored approaches to integrating these spaces into the contemporary urban context

The lectures sparked a lively discussion among the audience, as reconstruction and urban transformation are particularly relevant for Ukraine today. The event marked another step in advancing LNTU's international cooperation and strengthening professional ties with leading European architects.

The guests were given a university tour after the lectures, exploring the academic buildings, art spaces, and the institution's renewed architecture. The visit concluded with a walk through the city, allowing the guests to experience Lutsk's unique atmosphere and discover its noteworthy location.
