From September 23 to 25, 2025, the 7th International HELMeTO 2025 Conference (Higher Education Learning Methodologies and Technologies Online) occurred in Naples, Italy.
The educational practices of LNTU were presented by Olha Hulai, Professor of the Department of Digital Educational Technologies; Vasylyna Shemet, Associate Professor of the Department of Food Technology and Chemistry; and Tetiana Furs, Associate Professor of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics.
The event was held under the auspices of one of Europe's oldest universities — the University of Naples Federico II — and was a platform for exchanging advanced scientific and practical research in higher education.
.

During the event, researchers and practitioners worldwide discussed new approaches to online education and technologies, learning analytics, distance learning methods, and data from educational platforms. The conference featured parallel sessions in two main areas: online pedagogy and learning methodologies, and technologies for learning, analytics, and academic data mining.
Special thematic tracks were also held, focusing on topics such as AI in education, formative assessment, inclusivity, and creative approaches to online learning.
Two presentations were delivered on behalf of the LNTU research team:
In Section ST1 – Rethink Education: The Opportunities and Challenges of Artificial Intelligence, Olha Hulai, Vasylyna Shemet, and Tetiana Furs presented their paper titled "ChatGPT as a Tool for Students' Scientific Research" (presented by Vasylyna Shemet).
In the combined ST5 + GT1 section, Pavlo Savaryn, Olha Hulai, and Vitalii Kabak presented the paper "The Impact of Non-Formal Education on the Understanding and Perception of AI" (given by Olha Hulai).
The conference featured keynote speakers who are experts in pedagogy and digital technologies. Bruno Siciliano, in his presentation, "Robotics: A New Science, a New Learning and Teaching Environment for Online Higher Education," discussed the evolution of robotics as an interdisciplinary science that goes beyond engineering, as well as the challenges of developing "InterAction Technology" at the interface between humans and machines.
Olga C. Santos, in her presentation, "Learning IN/WITH/ABOUT Motion: Shaping the Future of Online Higher Education through Human Motion Computing," demonstrated how movement can be integrated into course design through motion capture technologies, VR, and motion computing using AI.
The combination of a scientific atmosphere and the unique Mediterranean charm made the conference particularly special. Naples — southern Italy's cultural and scientific capital — is renowned for its historic city centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the nearby Mount Vesuvius.

Participation in the conference enriched academicians with new ideas, which we will implement in the academic life of LNTU.
