The Centre for Mediation and Psychology carries out:

  • - individual psychological counseling;
  • - mediation services (alternative settlement of military and civil conflicts; family mediation, family mediation involving minors);
  • - psychological and social education;
  • - prevention and psycho-correction of negative emotional states of students.

The application of traditional methods of psychological support in the center is combined with the use of innovative technology (BIOFEEDBACK), which provides an opportunity to explore mind-body techniques.

This device and certified specialists are currently the only ones in Western Ukraine. With the help of technology, after the selection of a psycho-corrective program by a specialist, the following is traced:

  • - improvement of functioning at the cognitive level; 
  • - support in the field of self-control, the ability to cope with stress, managing emotions, and increasing motivation on an emotional level, improving functioning on a physical level.

According to the Law of Ukraine "On Education", bullying is the actions or inaction of participants in the educational process, which consist of psychological, physical, economic, and sexual violence, including the use of electronic means of communication, committed against a minor and (or) by such a person in relation to other participants of the educational process, as a result of which damage to the victim's mental or physical health could be or has been caused.

Typical features of bullying are:

  • systematicity (repeatability) of action;
  • presence of parties – offender (bully), victim (bullying victim), observers (if available);
  • actions of the offender, the results of which are infliction of mental and/or physical harm, humiliation, fear, anxiety, subordination of the victim to the interests of the offender, and/or causing social isolation of the victim.

Bullying can take the following forms:

  • verbal – offensive statements (regarding appearance, religious or racial affiliation, nationality, etc.);
  • physical - any physical violence that causes pain or bodily harm, damage to personal things;
  • social (emotional) – intimidation, refusal to communicate, ignoring, boycott;
  • sexual – humiliating looks, gestures, offensive body movements, nicknames and images of a sexual nature, filming in changing rooms, spreading offensive rumours, sexual threats, jokes;
  • electronic (cyberbullying) – humiliating, spreading rumours and offensive comments using e-mail, mobile phones, gadgets and social networking sites.

The measures that can be done to stop bullying in the student environment:

  • cultivation of friendly relationships in the group;
  • do not remain indifferent;
  • to accept a person as he/ she is;
  • to understand that social status, physical disabilities, race or religion are not the basis for bullying;
  • personally demonstrate that you do not support bullying;
  • respect the opinions and views of others;
  • to show kindness, mercy, respect for others,
  • to respect everyone's right to be themselves,
  • to show readiness for reconciliation and to admit one's mistakes.
