The list of priority thematic areas of scientific research and development of LNTU was considered and approved by the academic council of LNTU (protocol No. 12 of May 24, 2016), implemented by Order No. 386-04-33 of May 25, 2016, following the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of September 7, 2011.

The validity of the priority scientific areas for 2022 has been prolonged (decision of the academic council of LNTU dated June 30, 2022, protocol No. 11).

No. 942 Fundamental scientific research on the most important problems of scientific, technical, socio-economic, socio-political, and human potential development to ensure Ukrainian competitiveness in the world and sustainable development of society and the state:

  • The most important fundamental issues of physical, mathematical, and technical sciences
  • Fundamental aspects of modern materials science
  • Fundamental research on current problems of social sciences and humanities

Energy and energy efficiency:

  • Technologies of effective energy supply of buildings and structures
  • Technologies of electric power and thermal power
  • Technologies for the development and use of new types of fuel, renewable and alternative energy sources, and types of fuel.
  • Technologies and means of expert analytical quality control of motor fuels (automobile gasoline and diesel fuel according to the requirements of "Euro-4", "Euro-5"; liquefied petroleum gas and biofuel)
  • Methods of applying modern energy management
  • Energy-efficient technologies in transport

Rational Use of Natural Resources:

  • Technologies of rational use of soils and preservation of their fertility
  • Promising technologies of agro-industrial complex and processing industry

New substances and materials:

  • Targeted applied research on obtaining new materials, their connection, and processing

The key areas of innovative development of the Lutsk National Technical University for 2017-2021 were reviewed and approved by the Academic Council of LNTU (protocol No. 7 dated February 28, 2017) following the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of No.1056 dated December 28, 2016. The validity of the priority scientific areas for 2022 has been prolonged (decision of the academic council of LNTU dated June 30, 2022, protocol No.11).

- 1. Development of new energy transportation technologies, implementation of energy-efficient, resource-saving technologies, development of alternative energy sources;

- 4. Development of new construction technologies for energy-efficient residential and communal buildings and premises;

- 3. Development of new technologies for the production of materials, their processing and joining, and creation of the nanomaterials and nanotechnologies industry;

- 1. Development of new technologies for obtaining, processing, and using composite and functional gradient materials;

- 4. Technological renewal and development of the agro-industrial complex;

- 1. Development and implementation of technologies for the production, preservation, and processing of high-quality crop production;

- 6. Wide application of eco production and environmental protection technologies;

- 3. Application of closed cycle technologies, technologies of cleaning, processing, and utilization of industrial and household waste.
