Students of LNTU took part in a unique meeting today, as they had the opportunity to attend a lecture by Denys Piatyhorets, director of the Department of Procurement and Asset Management of WOG.
The event took place within the framework of the School of Business and Law of LNTU, under the project "Accelerating Innovation and Entrepreneurial Excellence in Higher Education Institutes" (AccEnt Project), financed by the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT). The listeners were students of various years of study and educational programmes, as well as their scientific mentors.
LNTU Rector Iryna Vakhovych greeted the distinguished guest and addressed the students:
"We have a very powerful personality visiting us today with a rich life story. This is a person who manages assets and purchases with an emphasis on petroleum products. Today we have a wonderful demonstration of cooperation in the form of a lecture. Denys Piatyhorets will share his experience with the procurement market, and tell what the main emphasis should be done in work. Therefore, I wish you to gain a huge amount of knowledge and make this day as useful as possible."
At the same time, the dean of the Faculty of Business and Law, Liubov Kovalska, urged young people to have a lively discussion with the guest lecturer and to gain as much useful knowledge, practical advice and professional competencies as possible. To develop new business skills and abilities, the School of Business and Law implements interesting meetings and innovative projects for students of LNTU.
The main topic of the guest's lecture is "Procurement and Supply Chain Management". Therefore, Denys Piatyhorets told the youth about the key aspects of logistics in the company's activities, in particular, about the three main blocks of its implementation: the procurement process; supply chain and procurement management.
It was pointed out that it is important to follow the “five rights” rules during procurement: right quantity, right quality, right time, right place, right price. Specific examples of companies regarding the organization of the supply chain with consideration of its elements were also given. During the meeting, it was emphasized the importance of the procurement management process, which should take into account such aspects as a clearly approved structure of the company and the procurement department, effectively distributing roles within the structure and skilfully managing relations with colleagues within the company and with suppliers.
