On May 9, 2023, bachelor's degree students of the educational programmes Logistics, Management, Enterprise Economics, Marketing and Environmental Studies and master's degree students of the educational program Environmental Studies learned about the environmental problems of the Volyn region. The head of the Department of Environmental Studies of the Lutsk City Council, Oksana LYSAK gave an interesting and meaningful lecture to the students, "The Importance of Biodiversity in the Modern Urban Space."

The class was held as part of studying the discipline of Economics of Sustainable Development. The open lecture was attended by Professor Liubov LIPYCH, Professor Oksana POLINKEVICH and Associate Professor Natalia VASYLYK.

During her presentation, Oksana Lysak drew attention to ecological culture and the preservation of resources as important European values. Students got acquainted with the well-known problems of the urban environment, such as pollution, the city's lack of adaptation to climate change, overpopulation, hypodynamia, stress, an unfavourable video environment, "the "sadness of new cities", "Lemming syndrome", replication of cynicism. Each problem was illustrated with examples of how to overcome it. Oksana Lysak drew attention to the colour of "hunger" and vitamins for the nervous system. She also drew attention to the importance of animals in cities, bird feeders, insect hotels, and hedgehog houses.
