The university library is at the service of students. The department's facilities are located in an area of over 1000m2 and include lecture halls, specialized laboratories and offices on the basics of design, electronic and electrical equipment of cars, car engines, heat engineering, technical operation of vehicles, car theory, and traffic safety. The department also has a computer class (with an Internet connection) where students can improve their knowledge, conduct calculations and complete courses, diploma projects, and master's theses. The department has an educational and scientific centre for advanced training of students in motor transport and a student design and technology bureau.

The training of students in the specialities "Automobile Transport" and "Transport Technologies" is carried out by a team of highly qualified academicians. The Department of Automobiles and Transport Technologies includes 23 lecturers, 2 Doctors of Technical Sciences, 18 Candidates of Technical Sciences, 1 Candidate of Economic Sciences, and 1 Doctor of Philosophy (PhD); there are 2 full professors, 21 associate professors and 4 technical officers.

The Department has established close cooperation with the National Transport University (Kyiv), Lviv Polytechnic National University, the Kharkiv National Automobile and Highway University, Vinnytsia National Technical University, Zhytomyr State Technological University and other higher educational institutions of Ukraine.

Students are engaged in scientific and research activities; they study in the master's programmes and later in postgraduate studies.
Prizes placed in all-Ukrainian competitions and Olympiads are evidence of the high level of student training. Thus, in the 2014/2015 academic year, according to the results of the 2nd round of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad, the 3rd place was won by a student Maksymuk O.; according to the results of the 2nd round of the All-Ukrainian Competition of Student Scientific Papers, the winners were: students Kuryn M.
