As part of the implementation of the project "Discovering the joint Ukrainian-Polish architectural heritage of the period 1921-1939 on the territory of Volyn", students from Poland, led by Professor Michał Pszczółkowski, came to LNTU. For a whole week, together with our students, they explored the architectural heritage of Volyn and reproduced it in their sketches.

The value of the project is that the interwar period in Volyn is very important because at that time a new era in architecture began in Europe. This was a rejection of decorative and complex forms. The architects of that time focused on providing people with the most necessary - public buildings and housing. At the same time, all this had to be as comfortable, functional and with open space as possible. Such trends reached Volyn in the late 1920s and early 1930s. It was the time of the Second Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and a large number of architects worked here, inculcating European culture."

For architect students, a suitable route through the cities has been drawn up, where they have made quick sketches of sights, i.e. sketches. During the week, 20 students from both universities visited Lutsk, Rivne, Kostopil, Sarny, Kovel, Liuboml, and Horokhiv and, at the same time, had a series of meetings with local communities and historians for a more detailed study of the localities.

The project started in October. Thus, on October 17, students from Poland arrived in Lutsk, led by the professor of the University of Zielona Góra, Michał Pszczółkowski, and on October 23, an exhibition of sketches was held at LNTU. In addition, they plan to digitize the students' works and create an electronic album for presentations and dissemination.
