Lutsk NTU hosted a coordination meeting and a workshop on the methodology of vocational guidance and career development
The cross-border congress lasted from the 2d to the 4th of May within the frameworks of the project ‘Enhancing the competitiveness of graduates on labor markets of Ukraine and Belarus through establishment of cross-border regional network of university Centers of vocational and career guidance’.
The delegation from Lutsk NTU took part in the start-up conference of the Belarus-Ukraine cross-border project at the National University of Ostroh Academy recently. Representatives of higher education institutions came to Lutsk to tell about the achievements in the project implementation and to agree on further joint plans.
On May 2, educators took part in a round-table project presentation for NGO, youth, business sector, the Volyn Regional Employment Center, and Department of Education and Science of Volyn Regional State Administration. The following representatives of universities expressed their view on the situation and ways of solving the issue: a rector of Lutsk NTU Petro Savchuk; a meeting moderator and a head of the Department of Materials Science Mykola Melnychuk; a head of the Management Department Natalia Vavdiyuk; an executive secretary of the Admissions Committee Yurii Feshchuk; a head of NGO ‘Ukrainian Students' Association’ in the Volyn region Oleksandr Kanaheiev; a representative of the main partner – the National University of Ostroh Academy – a head of International relations and fundraising department Eduard Balashov; a professor of the Department of Psychology in Francisk Skorina Gomel State University Vitaly N. Dvorak; a vice dean of the Faculty of Psychology in Francisk Skorina Gomel State University Stepan Stanibula; a dean of the Social and Pedagogical Sciences Faculty in A. S. Pushkin Brest State University Nadezhda Leonyuk; and a professor of The Pedagogical Faculty in A.S. Pushkin Brest State University Maria Kovalevich.
Such business representatives also participated in a round-table project presentation: a deputy chief of the machine shop of LRZ ‘Motor’ Volodymyr Popov; representatives of the Department of Education and Science of Volyn Regional State Administration Larysa Lohovska and Olha Matviichuk; a head of Lutsk City Employment Center Olena Shyshova; and a teacher of German in the Lutsk Modest Levytskyi Gymnasium #4 Tetyana Romanchuk.
On May 3, the project coordinator in Lutsk NTU Ihor Petruk presented to the teachers and students the main goals, plans, and results of the work done. Subsequently, 10 specialists have taken a computer vocational guidance test ‘PROFKARIERA-UA’, and the results were processed at once. Also, the scientific consultant of the project "Proforientator – Ukraine’ Yaryna Kaplunenko together with HR-specialist and business coach Olena Vertynska taught the structure of the vocational guidance test and the basics of career counseling of students, graduates, young and experienced specialists from 20 to 40 years old. At the end of a fruitful day, the participants of the training seminars received certificates of passing the course from the Testing and Development Center ‘Humanitarian Technologies’. Afterwards, delegations from Belarus and Ostroh visited the Lutsk castle and the Old City.
On May 4, Olena Vertynska, HR-specialist, business coach, the employment trainer of the Employment Centre of Free People and the co-founder of the NGO ‘All About Job’, held a training course ‘Where does my work dwell?’ to the participants of the project. At first, they learned how to define job search strategies, how to write a resume, and finally how to present and test themselves.
Soon, the project partners will rejoin within the frameworks of the cross-border congress to evaluate the results of the project activities and set new goals and objectives.
